Adopt a Pet .....
McSteamy: This is his 3rd homeless Xmas! He loves the company of other cats, especially his lady friend, Henna. They are two peas in a pod and groom each other throughout the day. They would do well if they could stay together since being together would help them better adjust to a new home. They have both been at the shelter for two years! Contact WVHS 845-986-2473. Angus - given up by his second family because they were moving. He had not been vetted in almost five years. Rescue took him in, had a senior blood profile done, heartworm testing, negative and neutered. He is up-to-date on his rabies and distemper vaccinations, and is looking for a full-time human snuggle partner(s) in a forever home. He loves to express his opinion, is very active, and has no problem doing stairs. He is quite the character! Contact Mid-ABHR at 908-256-0598. Noodle - lop eared bunny. She is one of 9 rabbits (8 girls/1 boy) given up by an owner who could no longer care for them. Originally outdoor rabbits, they are all now enjoying spacious indoor living with plenty of fresh green lettuce and veggies, good and plentiful hay and clean, fresh water! All are in litterbox training too. Contact WVHS at 845-986-2473.
Woggy - 9 year old tri colored male. Woggy is a wonderful boy friendly to cats and dogs. Crate trained and lovable. Contact Mid-ABHR at 908-256-0598. Nanci -She somehow ended up at a local farm but she is no farm cat. Sadly she tested positive for FIV but otherwise is healthy and a beauty. She may be ok with other FIV+ cats. Contact WVHS 845-986-2473. Claude - I've been waiting a LONG time! Please come see me soon. Tiger kitty, M/N, up to date on vaccines. Contact WVHS at 845-986-2473.
Sammy - adorable 8-month old terrier mix, N/M, who was scheduled to be euthanized to make space for other animals in a Kentucky shelter. Sammy is an energetic, young pupster, who loves being with you, and is a whirlwind of activity. He adores playing with other dogs and toys. While not yet fully housetrained, terrier breeds are highly intelligent and we expect him to catch on quickly. Contact Mid-ABHR at 908-256-0598. Bella - 4-yr old female basset hound S/F. Bella is friendly and enjoys playing. She is housetrained, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworm. She is ready to move into her new home! Contact Mid-ABHR 908-256-0598. Cartoon - found as a stray with a collar that had embedded part way into his skin from apparently being tied up outside in the Bronx. He is a young basset mix. He arrived emaciated, but we have been able to put and keep the weight on this high energy boy. He thrives on attention, but will need obedience training and positive reinforcement. Cartoon would prefer to be an only dog in the household. Since Cartoon would excel with obedience training, we have reduced his adoption fee to help his new family with the cost. Contact Mid-ABHR 908-256-0598.

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.
